You are invited to the celebration of Rockcliffe University’s 4th Anniversary. We’ve come a long way in four short years.

We are starting the day with a pre-open house forum by AgileBill Firehawk entitled “Project Management by Example” at 10:30 AM
The excitement follows with a Keynote Address by our Dean and CEO of Rockcliffe, Phelan Corrimal (Kevin Feenan) at 11:30 AM.

Busking Bards and Jesters presents Impromptu theatre, an audience participation sketch, we may call for a revolt and storming of Phelans castle ( if he has one ). Flaming torches and pitchforks will be supplied. Dress style is optional, but “olde worlde” farmer smocks or similar will be the order of the day. (bring straw to chew.) Please assemble outside the
wearing heavy boots 🙂

This presentation looks at the conflict educators face in adjusting for considerations of past, present and future mindsets and how they potentially impacts on the virtual world classroom experience.

12:00-1:00PM: “Process the Crime scene / CJ Coin Shop”
Ever want to be a Crime Scene Investigator? Now is your chance to experience what it’s like. Visitors will be finding items of evidence in a crime with points awarded for the best job. Join Judge Randi Hooker and help her solve the case.

12:00-1:00 PM: “Second Life, Media and the Other Society”
Sonicity Fitzroy will discuss her book “Second Life, Media and the Other Society” in a forum, with Q& A to follow a 25 minute presentation. Her book examines the societal impact and contribution of SL media makers to real world and virtual life culture and economy. Her presentation involve a mix of talk and media, and discussion. A small exhibit will highlight some of the book content.

Classroom C

1:00-2:00 PM: “Discussion on Security in SL”
This will be a full discussion on the security risks inherent to Second Life, it’s viewers, and the general populace. Included in this is Griefers, Media risks, newer in world viewer issues, and all other items. This will be a voice enabled discussion.

Classroom A

1:00-2:00 PM: “Class on Cybercrime”
Professor Chipmunk Zhong will discuss and present issues in cybercrimes with perhaps some new twists and helpful tips on protecting yourself.

1:00-2:00 PM: “Discussion and Tour of Science Resources”
Explore what Rockcliffe has to offer to the science student and professional.

1:00-2:00 PM: “Under Construction” with Phelan Corrimal

This presentation looks at some of the sweeping technological shifts over the previous 200 years, what constitutes those shifts as being changes in paradigm, and provides a possible look into why and when the next paradigm shift may occur based on the development of virtual reality inspired collaborative networks.

2:00-3:00 PM: “To Kill a Mockingbird/ Discussion Forum & trial”
We will be honoring the best selling book and movie To Kill a Mockingbird, based on the Scopes Monkey trial in the form of a mini-mock trail and discussion. Stop by and give us a visit!!

1st Circuit Court of Second Life

2:00-3:00 PM “Virtual ROI ( Training, Education & Business) – Where Are We?”
Virtual spaces offer businesses and education many avenues for implementation. This discussion will focus on how users can define return on investment and what administrators and managers are looking for when investing in new technology. The discussion will also include a brief presentation by the facilitator on traditional methods of assessing return on investment and the terminology that managers and administrators utilize when evaluating return on investment.

2:00-3:00 PM: “Linden Lab Under Fire” with Phelan Corrimal

This roundtable will be a text and voice based discussion on the recent changes that have been happening around Second Life and Linden Lab over the past several weeks. We will be discussing the relevancy of the platform and whether or not the recent changes will actually help or hurt the environment.
