Rockcliffe recognizes that in addition to the tireless service that our members provide professional communities, they also deserve some form of recognition and distinction. Therefore, these awards and distinctions are granted on a yearly basis for service to the profession that go above and beyond.
Rockcliffe Service Awards
The Rockcliffe Service Awards are in their inaugural year to commemorate the first year of professional membership. These awards will be granted to the Rockcliffe Professional Member who has distinguished him/herself in various activities that demonstrate service to the profession and exemplify the professional SERVE mission.
These awards will be issued during the Second Annual Rockcliffe University Consortium Conference (RUCC) in November 2018 in the following categories:
Professional Service Award
This annual award is issued to the active Rockcliffe Professional Member who has distinguished him or herself over two consecutive years, through service to Rockcliffe’s Professional Community exemplifying leadership, compassion, ethics, and who has demonstrated continuous significant contribution to improving our educational standards, programs, and outreach.Â
Nominations open August 1, 2018 for the period of September 1, 2017 to August 31, 2018. Nominations close August 31, 2018.
Community Service Award
This award is issued to the active Rockcliffe Community Member who has distinguished him or herself within the past 2 years, through service to Rockcliffe’s Community exemplifying the spirit of cooperation, compassion, ethics, and who has demonstrated continuous significant contribution to improving our educational community and outreach.Â
Nominations open August 1, 2018 for the period of September 1, 2017 to August 31, 2018. Nominations close August 31, 2018.
Years of Service Recognition
Provided to active members of the Rockcliffe community, who are members in good standing and have engaged in service each year for projects or activities (i.e. serving on a conference committee for the entire cycle of the conference).
To qualify, members must have provided 120 hours of community service to the community yearly for the period of September 1, 2017 to August 31, 2018.
A Years of Service Pin will be provided at each 5-year anniversary milestone and will be award during the Second Annual Rockcliffe University Consortium Conference (RUCC) in November 2018.
Thinkerer Award
The Thinkerer Award is granted during the Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education conference in the spring, as a lifetime achievement award for consistent selfless service towards the promotion of learning, community, and educational practices using immersive environments.
